@jwildeboer That is even if this perpetrator might be mentally ill, this doesn't even imply causality but still contributes to mental health stigma. Which is sometimes deadly too.

Perpetrators are framed as the Other. Because "we" could never do anything bad, could we. When racism works they use racism. When everything else fails, it's mental health stigma.
Even though statistically mentally ill people are more likely to become victims. But not more likely to become perpetrators.
