Oh nice! Following a #WordPress blog using #nodebb is working like a charm!
Good job @julian

@simonwood @julian @nodebb as Simon said, this is a user choice! You can choose βNoteβ if you want to have the best compatibility or you can let the plugin choose what the best format is. And then we try to map the WordPress internal post formats to the ActivitySteams Object-Types. Standard Post == Article, Status & Aside == Note, Image == Note with priority on image attachments, Video == Note with priority on video attachments, β¦
@julian @evanprodromou yes, that is because the plugin processes the follow synchronously π₯Έ
thanks a lot for tweaking nodebb to be compatible and I will see how we can improve that!!!
Itβs funny: #WordPress powers about 40% of the internet but in the #fediverse it is still the underdog οΈ

ActivityPubSubHubbub!
we just released version 2.4.0 of the #WordPress #ActivityPub plugin:
https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-activitypub/releases/tag/2.4.0
The ActivityPub protocol is a decentralized social networking protocol based upon the ActivityStreams 2.0 data format.

@thisismissem @hongminhee @julian @renchap @mike @michael but isn't this a hack we only might have to add because of the summary/content-warning thingy?
@jan this is most likely because of caching? do you have a caching plugin in place?
can you configure your caching plugin, to use different buckets based on the Accept header?
it's often so complex to add #ActivityPub to an already existing platform (for example #WordPress ) and it gets even more complex if it is not built for social media
For example
1. Deleting Users from the Fediverse, that still exist on the blog.
2. Delete the whole blog from the fediverse, but take temporary plugin deactivations/deletions into account.
3. Caching by third party plugins.
4. Shared hosting.
5. Posts and Comments in different DB tables
6. Publish only a subset of posts
@julian I think I have a working draft available in the next few days, maybe you have some time this or next week, to check it with nodeBB!?!
will send you a link when I have it deployed to my site.
We just released version 2.6.0 of the #ActivityPub plugin for #WordPress
You can now (finally) add/edit/delete the extra fields, we improved the remote-reply overlay quite a bit and made a lot of smaller tweaks and fixes.
Let us know if you have some feedback!

@julian oh no! take your time!!! there is no hurry
enjoy your family vacation οΈ
@japipes and I would not call it βcrapβ, because it is a requested feature and (as already mentioned) you can deactivate it!
@evan this sounds like the solution to all my conneg problems!??!
I tweaked the #ActivityPub inbox endpoints of my #WordPress site a bit and was able to follow my blog on #Flipboard οΈ
