Those who could be endangered by MAGA relatives need to protect themselves.

But for those not in danger, a purely performative act of distancing from family over disgust for their politics (such that they may never hear anything outside their bubble) is unhelpful to people at risk.

I find it strange to phrase the question this way. Did you read the book?

I found his view to be a nuanced consideration of both sides, informed by both his experiences as a Black man living in the US, and the trips he has made to Israel and Palestine.
