Who is really left? #Linux #Debian #postgresql ?

This is an interesting (pronounced like "frustrating") thread.@nik @jenniferplusplus IRI seems to be about just allowing extra characters, not content-addressing.
It would be easy enough to build content-addressability within existing URLs. For example:
Web browsers could have built this universally for all resources when defining the SubResource Integrity spec which is ensures that JS scripts a page downloads has not been tampered with. They chose `<script integrity="<hashalgorith>-<hashvalue>">` instead.

This is an interesting (pronounced like "frustrating") thread.@jenniferplusplus I also think #ActivityPub spec seems to be designed in early 2000s where users were supposed to just trust the servers. The only way I can truly own my identity is by running my own AP server on my own domain. Content is also referred to by its URLs, not by its content-hash which makes sure that I remain dependent on other servers/intermediaries.
#Bluesky at least recognizes some of these issues.

A reminder that if Mozilla can build Firefox's entire UI in Web Components, and if Chromium browsers can power a huge fraction of the UI with them, they're good enough for your website.@slightlyoff I cannot even create a custom <RectWithLabel> svg component, since svg namespace does not allow it.

#whalebird is a #Slack / #Discord -like interface for #Mastodon#whalebird is a #Slack / #Discord -like interface for #Mastodon
I submitted a change to show the user's followed hashtags in the sidebar to simulate topics/channels. https://github.com/h3poteto/whalebird-desktop/pull/5028

Is there an #ActivityPub server that allows users to add hashtags/topics to lists? Here is the feature request in #Mastodon repo: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/7692@BeAware Whalebird goes to great lengths to enable Slack-like UI. But it's available only for desktop, not the Web.

Also, I now think this can be accomplished only by modifying client apps. Servers don't need a change. Just need a way to show followed hashtags in the sidebar or somewhere easy to find.

It's great but it doesn't show a list of those hashtags. It just mixes the posts from those hashtags into a single timeline.
I guess I can have separate timeline for each hashtag. But what I am trying to accomplish is how Slack looks.

I am interested in building a Slack-like interface with a list of hashtags/topics being pinned to the sidebar. if not Mastodon, would have to pick a different server.
