@jalefkowit sick, between this and Cheney, Harris is crushing with the "old school war criminals who still hate Putin" demo. Coalition politics are buck wild

When you've been around so long you have to google the names of enemies to remember why you hated them -
There's a thing happening on the TikToks where people are calling white people European Americans and they are LOSING IT.@zkat @are0h oh because it's decentering. Same as the objections to cis. They believe they are and should be the default identity, needing no qualifiers. That's the core behind white patriarchal supremacy, the idea that there's an ideal (themselves) and every step away from that ideal to the Other is a step down.
The idea that they are just one among many is anathema.

@tchambers he was active both on threads and here at @stevesilberman and he def enjoyed Mastodon and valued it.@tchambers he was active both on threads and here at @stevesilberman and he def enjoyed Mastodon and valued it. A number of us who knew and valued him have been posting about him today, usually tagging his handle, in case anyone wants to jump in. Funny, he knew so many cool people I can't even remember Alex Winter coming up, and he's pretty damn cool

The Lincoln Project Terrorizes Trump With New Ad About Kamala Harris's Ratings@knittingknots2 @KamalaHarrisWin I was for awhile, and I still like his energy, but ultimately I got tired of all his predictions that turned out wrong. Throughout Trump's term he frequently and firmly predicted this or that was about to take Trump down, usually based on some claimed insider knowledge. After a few cycles of that I tuned him out. He's certainly committed to the anti Trump fight, and is a fun hype man, but he was just relentlessly, confidently wrong too much for my taste.

Interesting to see people moving from "voting against Trump" to "voting for Harris".Interesting to see people moving from "voting against Trump" to "voting for Harris".

Starting a #music thread to share the music I've loved this year. Whether or not it was actually released this year.@skinnylatte if you haven't heard it, I think his newer one Maps with Kenny Segal is great too, especially the jazz-heavy tracks which have a splintered, surreal sound to them. And he's on Shabaka Hutchings' Kofi Flexx project, and apparently Shabaka will be on his next album under a pseudonym, that's a cool pairing (Shabaka is also on that Tom Skinner album you posted of course)
