It's a long road to write a book, but I got word that, assuming the production goes as planned, Move Slowly and Build Bridges, my book about Mastodon and the ActivityPub-based fediverse, will be out from Oxford UP around August of next year! -
It's a long road to write a book, but I got word that, assuming the production goes as planned, Move Slowly and Build Bridges, my book about Mastodon and the ActivityPub-based fediverse, will be out from Oxford UP around August of next year!@rwg @mtechman @bookstodon I find this fascinating. In the heyday of computer book publishing (which is when I wrote for a living) time was of the essence. I’d work closely with my main publisher (Peachpit Press) to get books out quickly. I would write in the page layout app and send them finish pages for editing. I’d incorporate their edits and send them a final PDF of the book. The book would be available in print in bookstores in 3 to 4 weeks. (1/2)
