We're still seeing a bunch of people signing up using a throw-away Email address. We have a valid reason for requiring your real Email address and it has nothing to do with SPAM. (We hate SPAM and we don't sell or give out your email address to anybody.)
The reason is we need to be able to get in touch with you outside of Sharkey and the Fediverse if there is a problem with your account. If you use a throw-away Email address we have no way to contact you.
We all believe in privacy as much as you probably do so that's why privacy email addresses are just fine! Proton Mail, Duck.com, Mozilla's Privacy Service, etc. are perfectly fine.
It's only those throw-away email addresses or those mailboxes that are only valid for 10 minutes that we forbid.
When we receive a new signup from somebody that has a throw-away email address we immediately block the domain along with every other domain that service is affiliated with.
Also, every new user has to agree to the server rules when signing up, and near the top is our rule against throw-away accounts. So, if you're going to agree to our servers' rule and then break one of the top rules while signing up, then it makes me wonder what other rules are you planning to break?
Pax.

NSFW.social users - we have been getting a rash of spam signups so I'm going to be implementing signup approvals at least temporarily until this wave of SPAM dies out.NSFW.social users - we have been getting a rash of spam signups so I'm going to be implementing signup approvals at least temporarily until this wave of SPAM dies out. This means new users will need to list an actual reason for why they want to join NSFW.social. Blank submissions, etc. will be rejected. #FediAdmin #MastoAdmin #NSFWAdmin

I think I finally realised why I lost my enjoyment of Star Trek Discovery. Until now, Star Trek was an ensemble. What a fucking breath of fresh air he is every time he comes into an episode.
Hell, I'd love to see a spin-off series of just him and exploring his backstory because there is a helluva lot there that will be left untold when this series ends! -

The best damn story arc though was his husband dying and the story arc with Mae (Tilly's friend from school.)
In other words, pretty much any story line that's not centered on Michael Burnham. Hell, Lorca was/ is a more interesting character! -

Fortunately SNW still has that magical charm to me. I'm glad to see Disco ending. It's run its course. Would love to see a spinoff with Saru or the Kelpian conflict with that other species maybe. Or even exploring Owesukum. Now that's a strong character that doesn't get anywhere near enough screen time.
