RE: Shoutbox Add-On Request
Ok, I tried that, so first install it:
npm install nodebb-plugin-shoutbox
Restart nodebb. Active the shout plugin in Extend -> Plugins -> 'Activate' button.
But then, I still can't find the shoutbox in the available widgets list :? ?
EDIT: Restart nodebb after activation. Then you also should have a menu item, admin -> plugins -> Shoutbox. Thanks!
RE: [nodebb-plugin-emailer-local] Local email plugin
Ok so local mailer is now build-in. But I was using postfix. The following command is working fine:
mail -s "Hello world" email@example.com
This will send me an e-mail.I configured gmail SMTP setting in postfix. I'm 100% sure that is working.
Using NodeBB I can't send messages. I also can't find any settings page for mail configurations in NodeBB. I don't see any errors as far I can see in
./nodebb log. So what should I do? Why is it not working?
I already configured postfix, should I also configure nodemailer some how :s ?
nodebb upgrade brakes Redis / doesn't fix dependencies
I tried to upgrade from v0.9.0 to v0.9.1. It seems like a basic upgrade. However this './nodebb upgrade' will break Redis configuration. I did all the thinks listed on this page:
When I do a
./nodebb upgrademy NodeBB will gives errors about Redis. Yes Redis is installed and running. The only 'dirty' fix is to run
./nodebb setupI guess that is not the idea. This issue is still not solved... EDIT: Now my installation is even broken!
melroy@melroy-server:/var/www/forum.libreweb.org/html$ ./nodebb upgrade 1. Bringing base dependencies up to date... OK 2. Updating NodeBB data store schema. 2/12 14:24 - error: Unable to initialize Redis! Is Redis installed? It's even worse now. The ```./nodebb upgrade`` command doesn't upgrade my NodeBB installation. Now my installation is broken and not working at all!
melroy@melroy-server:/var/www/forum.libreweb.org/html$ ./nodebb log Type Ctrl-C to exit For the full license, please visit: http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html Clustering enabled: Spinning up 1 process(es). 2/12 15:03 - info: Time: Wed Dec 02 2015 15:03:34 GMT+0100 (CET) 2/12 15:03 - info: Initializing NodeBB v0.9.1 [outdated] nodebb-theme-lavender installed v3.0.0, package.json requires 3.0.1 2/12 15:03 - warn: One or more of NodeBB's dependent packages are out-of-date. Please run the following command to update them: 2/12 15:03 - warn: ./nodebb upgrade [cluster] Child Process (1353) has exited (code: 0, signal: null)
I found out the only fix is to manually execute the following line:
npm install nodebb-theme-lavender
nodebb upgradedidn't help at all!
Bottom-line: Check the nodebb upgrade script, this script isn't working as expected. I already have two issues:
- Upgrade script doesn't fix the nodebb dependencies
- Upgrade script brake Redis or configuration file
