@ariadne pretty recent yeah. Also keep in mind health care is a provincial responsibility, so this will vary some by province. Telus is based in Western Canada (originally Alberta, now BC) so if you're seeing this in BC for example that might be part of why. Dunno if Ontario is contracting with Telus or not but I'd say they showed up in force maybe 6 years ago in Alberta.

can some canadian please explain to me why TELUS are operating health care clinics?@ariadne oh no, specifically Telus has managed to contract with governments to do some health care delivery in areas where people don't have much choice.
Mostly Telehealth as far as I've seen, where they're basically undercutting local family doctors and nurses so the government run insurance is pushing people to them.

can some canadian please explain to me why TELUS are operating health care clinics?@ariadne health care in canada is operated by businesses (which can be professionals in partnerships or corporations or non-profits) in general, the only part of the system that is fully government run is the health insurance part which is single-payer and universal.
So it's subject to conglomeration just like any other business on the delivery side.

I just have a real hard time looking at the polls and coming to the conclusion that everyone is secretly jonesing for an establishment technocrat.

@Kellyshenanigans @Chigaze @stephanie @chris@AmeliasBrain @Chigaze @chris @lauxmyth @Kellyshenanigans @stephanie alternatively, maybe we could trade our half of that island we were fighting with Denmark over for a little piece of land in Denmark and then part of Canada can be in Europe.

Given the recent statements of the President of the United States, I'd suggest it would be in the economic, military, and social interest of every Canadian to read up on what it means to join the European Union. -
I wish Facebook wasn’t the only viable virtual flea market in my market.@linux_mclinuxface is kijiji that bad now? I admit I've found more interesting stuff on FB marketplace lately (it's now the no.1 reason I'm still on there), but I still go to kijiji for some things.
