Los geht’s!@dnkrupinski @Sascha @writefreely v0.16 is coming within the few weeks, and then v0.17 hopefully within 3 months after that. Some recent events slowed me down more than I'd like but I've finally been freed up to tackle this

@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 I hear you, and yeah these policy changes are terrible.@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 And to me, that's what's important. The rest of us can take that momentum and keep building the fediverse we want to see.
So for now, I think it's worthwhile to play nicely. But as soon as that changes, of course will adjust accordingly. I'm watching as always, and want to make sure everyone feels comfortable writing on the platform. So please feel free to continue sharing thoughts / feelings on everything.

@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 I hear you, and yeah these policy changes are terrible.@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 oh for sure. I mean from the inside, it's just talking with their devs to ensure everyone interoperates. They're a giant company who has to leap through legal hurdles for the tiniest changes etc so it's extremely slow-moving.
I'm cautious based on their entire history, but I think the fediverse is pretty resilient today. A big player like Meta investing in the network is at least moving things forward when they haven't in years.

@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 I hear you, and yeah these policy changes are terrible.@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 So I think that removing our support for the SWF would be counter-productive, and just ineffective for facing all the threats that are going to come from this next admin and toadies like Zuck.
I understand if you decide to leave. But my focus is on keeping our independent slice of the web on @write_as, and working with others to build these spaces, like the fediverse, that Meta can never own.

@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 I hear you, and yeah these policy changes are terrible.@tieflingdio @therivercrow @Dennis5891 I hear you, and yeah these policy changes are terrible. Goes without saying, on a personal level, I think Meta is a terrible company and always has been.
Sadly they're in the fediverse now. But the Social Web Foundation is just bringing orgs (like us @write_as) together to coordinate on the protocol, work with users, and so on. E.g. we might finally see support for long-for text here, which helps everyone! 1/

So excited to hear that the Ghost blogging software is going to support federation via ActivityPub! https://activitypub.ghost.org/If you sign up for updates, they have a survey where they're asking for feedback. Now's your chance to get your suggestion...@berkough So glad you like Write.as / #WriteFreely!
I've actually talked to @johnonolan and the folks at #Ghost before, when they helped us integrate cross-posting.
I'm pretty excited for the social reader they announced, as it should mean *all* long-form content in the fediverse will get really interesting. I reached out to them this week about working together -- think we see it as more about collaboration than competition

Still in development, but got #ActivityPub replies working!Still in development, but got #ActivityPub replies working! Once it goes live, replies from the fediverse will show up on Remark.as.
Last major issue is to add some basic moderation. Already got instance-level blocking done so I can easily defederate from bad servers, but want to make sure we can handle any potential abuse from individual users too.
