In USA, the carbon payback for EV vs ICE is about 2 years or 25,000 miles. Given that I generally run cars until they have >250,000 miles on them, I think it’s a worthwhile investment.

I did drive the ICE car that I had until it bit the dust; I’m glad to own an EV now. Voting for the Oily Boys every time I bought gas rubbed me the wrong way.

Still, I’d like much improved, electrified transit.

The principle is paramount. The massive musk & spaysex carbon footprint is a result of unprincipled leadership.

Especially useful to counter the narrative that musk is green. The petrol savings by all those Tesla cars is offset by the massive carbon footprints of musk’s private jet and, of course, SpaceX.

Musk is not green; he’s a profiteer.

Agree. The framing of the headline sucks. I didn't bother to read the article.

People with greater wealth have a higher carbon footprint, because of greater consumerism, greater travel, bigger homes, heated pools, second homes, boats, more cars, second and third refrigerators, and countless other reasons.

Putting EV in the headline is stupid. Correlation is not causation, and EVs have far lower emissions than ICEs.
