This track is so nice. -
This post did not contain any content.@neilk @schizanon thinking out loud here, but if I were perfectly honest with myself, I posted that meme out of resentment over a fringe group of Fediverse folks who are militantly against certain things that they—I guess—dislike, such as crypto. Some of whom attacked me on another account on another instance for having endorsed crypto.
But that's the key: fringe.
I now realize that a large chunk of the Fediverse doesn't really care about crypto use at all, I believe.
I shouldn't be painting the Fediverse with broad strokes like that.
Not to mention, the Fediverse isn't against AI either.
I remember maintaining Firefish (now called Iceshrimp), and was surprised to find an AI model in there. Apparently it exists to flag CSAM.
Only a fringe group would go out attacking AI proponents.
I really shouldn't be childish like that and paint the entire Fediverse as an unflattering caricature of people who can't engage in nuanced discussion.

I'm not a Bluesky hater.@schizanon (excuse the snark )

I'm just putting more of my energy into ActivityPub, and circle back to ATProto eventually.

Growing up, I used to wish I was born into wealth.Growing up, I used to wish I was born into wealth.
Then I look at people who probably have the capacity to look out for themselves, but have other people providing for them…
Now I'm thinking, yeah, I'm glad I was raised different.

The cynic in me believes the reason why governments don't operate more rentals is because they know they can't follow their own rules that they have established or those in lower jurisdictions (such as provinces and cities) have established.
Early on, when governments could have had non-regulatory market involvement, instead they opted to regulate, turning off would-be landlords from ever taking on the role of rental management, thus hurting supply.
What could have been an elegant opportunity for tenants to just move from home to home when things became unbearable, instead, governments put a metaphorical chain-link fence, so that the landlord is now just metaphorically barking behind it in hopes the tenant leaves.
The tenant would love to leave, but they're grandfathered into a sweet deal thanks to rent control. That, and their wages probably haven't caught up to match rental rate growth.

@manlycoffee are you still building on ActivityPub?@schizanon yeah, I probably gotta give up the Golang ambition and focus my effort on Deno.

Left-wing liberals disown their parents for voting Trump. It's just a commentary about talking points from science communities, mostly certain behaviour science communities.
They love to throw statistics around about how intolerant the left is of right-wing politics.

I asked ChatGPT this, and this is what I got, lmao@Buggy It almost feels accurate.
Like, I never told it about my acoustic guitar, but it put one there.
The drawer set to the left? Yep, I got one.
There's a bunch of paraphernalia all around my room.
My chair is indeed upholstered in grey. There's wall art in my room.

This theorem seems easy enough.@FenTiger here's an article that apparently has the proof. https://terrytao.wordpress.com/2011/07/15/pappuss-theorem-and-elliptic-curves/
I'm going to have to start drawing things on pen and paper to see if the proof holds, and to get an intuition of why the proof is true.
Would have been nice to have gotten an intuition from it when I presented elliptic curve cryptography to a group of people.
When it came to proving associativity, I just left it at "the Cayley-Bacharach theorem proves it. Now watch this video on your own time to get the intuition. But spoiler: the argument behind Cayley-Bacharach theorem is no different than when you know two points of intersection between a cubic and a line, then you immediately know where the third point lies."
But that is so unsatisfying.

This theorem seems easy enough. This theorem seems easy enough. A great tool to prove associativity of the "add" operation of an elliptic curve.
Then, when I try to understand the proof of this theorem, I get lost immediately.
Anyways, this is the article where the screenshot is from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayley%E2%80%93Bacharach_theorem
