How do you maintain the backup routine of your forum?

Developing in a server without the easy-doing-way that WHM/cPanel does to configure simple tasks is a brand new thing for me... And I'm still getting used to it.

The forum will be running a Linhux/Nginx/MongoDB server and now I'm planning the backup routine.

Shall we discuss about it?
P.s: I'm not exactly asking what would be the best way to do backup routine for me. It's just a topic to share our ideas and what we're doing in order to keep the backups working well.

Hey, guys. I need something similar to prefixes on a forum, the tag systems would fit well if I could limit the number of tags in each post... and which tags the users would be able to use (we can do it on IP.Board).

How can I do that?

When you're trying to search something and the word is in a link, nodeBB provides de wrong URL link.

Example while searching for "Redactor":
The search displays:

<a href="https://github.com/ipetepete/nodebb-plugin-<strong>redactor</strong>-editor">https://github.com/ipetepete/nodebb-plugin-<strong>redactor</strong>-editor<;/a>

Note that there's a <strong> in the href.

I know they can do it, but I'm sure they won't learn the syntax behind it (I tried before and the solution was to copy and paste the image).

That's why I wanted a button in the editor where they can put the alt text and the image url.

The users of my forum uses a lot of gifs that they host by themselves in an anothers sites (like imgur).

They're used to the WYSIWYG editor of the IP.Board that allows them to copy and paste the image directly in the editor (like we do to paste a image in Office).

Is there any way to do it? Or an easy alternative, like a button in the editor that allows them to paste the URL of the image (uploading wouldn't be good, they use a loooot of gifs)?

@yariplus @tekojo Got it. I'm asking that because, since the users post a lot and refreshes the page all the time looking for new posts and topics, even a lil difference in performance would make a lot of difference.

I see some posts over the web that says that Redis is faster but I'm afraid due to the space.

My forum uses IP.Board but it's pretty slow, so I'm planning to change it to NodeBB.

But my question is: I know that Redis is ultra fast since it uses RAM, but my forum is huuuuuge: 6.5 million posts and 31.200 members.

My server is CentOS one and has 32Gb of memory ram. Will it be too much for Redis? Should I consider to use MongoDB instead?
