Great to hear an alternative point of view, and a small spark of hope I haven't spent this time learning it in vain. Although I still don't see how it helps. Would you suggest I should start using the library (in my case pyld) and it will clarify?

Ok, I can officially say that I don't get #jsonLD. -
Ok, I can officially say that I don't get #jsonLD.@silverpill @helge You can't actually use it, even the aliasing feature. It's quite pointless, isn't it?

Ok, I can officially say that I don't get #jsonLD.Ok, I can officially say that I don't get #jsonLD. #ActivityPub uses it, #fediverse is built on it. But it doesnt actually give any boost in interoperability. The applications themself must be written with interoperability in mind. It's just fancy aliasing mechanism, am I wrong about it? Maybe that's what it's supposed to be? Was I wrong expecting it to be anything more? It doesn't do any heavy lifting besides the aliasing. It only serves as a reminder to look up the docs of a protocol. You could just as well just get the protocol spec out and it would be equivalent. What's the point?
