Yes that seems polite.
Mastodon hashtags are also sometimes never guessable, but wonderfully discoverable.
Tired of doom scrolling?
Discover the mastodon hashtag
#bloomscrolling --- a HUGE hashtag of exactly what you'd expect, and a tonic for worst timeline ever scrolling.
And not just the pictures, the historic economics of tulips, the viral basis of variegation. And indoor cultivation tips, allotment stories.
@danru
Hashtags are mastodon algorithms. Nothing puts what you like in your timeline.
Use hashtags, and also follow hashtags. Make a post with potential hashtags. Post it.
Open it. Click on the hashtags, see what you get. If you like, FOLLOW that hashtags, there is a button on the top of the column.
You now follow #climate as if it were a person, #pi #Cosplay #pie
Now Follow folks, check who they follow, follow them, you only see who you follow, who they boost.
Boosts, follows, hashtags.

On devices, on browser mastodon, replying opens a publish window, with all but the first account name selected, and typing without first carefully clicking away the selection, deletes all but the first name/handle.
It can be annoyingly difficult to get rid of selection without deleting names.
Is it done on purpose? Is there a code error that can be rewritten? It makes responding always begin with a high attention annoyance.
Asking for a friend.
Normallized by billionaire owned press.
Directly after CNN covered the Jan6th investigation in congress, impeachment, a billionaire bought CNN (true) to make it into Fox News.
And now its a paper tiger arguing about debate rules.
Now billionaires are spending all their money to steal America for themselves.
