I always wondered why nobody makes a NodeBB install script that will work as a kind-of setup wizard for NodeBB. It would help and facilitate us a lot the work, specifically when we need to perform several NodeBB installs on the same server.

I'm looking for a Node.js developer, specifically for NodeBB plug-ins. I'd like to create a kind-of external SSO authentication system for my NodeBB.

I own a Minecraft game server, so registrations will be made through the game. This should enable that when clicking the log-in button on my NodeBB it redirects to my external SSO auth system.

The SSO auth system should fetch data from the MySQL database and if both credentials are valid it should return to the forum with the user logged in. It's most likely going to require additional forum account configuration, such as email address, because the SSO will only return the username and the password.

Here are two things you have to do:

• Create an external secure SSO authentication system using either PHP or Node.js of your choice.
• Create a NodeBB plugin that's going to process and auth the user to the NodeBB forum.

I'll pay through PayPal. The job should be done as soon as possible, there's no strict deadline.

@teh_g This is a small forum. We have no intentions to use MySQL or another database provider at the moment.

The problem is that I don't know how to adapt the plugin, I don't code in Node.js but I'm skilled in PHP.

It's most likely we're going to migrate to MySQL soon. I own a game server and I want to use an external custom and secure SSO login. Registrations will be made through the game.

I have a website https://secure.website.net I want when users click on Login on my NodeBB forum get redirected to secure.website.net/login to login. I want to connect a plain text JSON database with my forum.

How I can do that?

There are lots of bugs the plugins i installed one and it gets uninstalled after restart or I try to delete a theme and when I restart it comes back

UPDATE: I now installed Gravatar plugin and then Q&A question and answer, then restarted NodeBB and the gravatar one got uninstalled except the Q&A one......

UPDATE 2: Sometimes it throws an alert with npm no write permissions.

How do I fix this annoying issue?

Using the latest NodeBB version.

Yes, Nginx and HHVM are running (this last one in socket mode) and I explicitly commented the line in the config for the server port. Error log files for Nginx and HHVM are empty.

It returns a 502 bad gateway when I visit a file ending in .php or .hh, EVEN if it doesn't exist.

I have followed the SAME tutorial here: https://community.nodebb.org/topic/11032/nodebb-full-stack-setup (Linux Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS) and service hhvm status and service nginx status are up, loaded, running. HHVM works in CLI as php command and even returns the version HipHop if I add the -v parameter.

PHP-FPM is NOT installed.
