Do I know anyone who uses open resources like Lens or OpenAlex or Internet Archive Scholar for comprehensive, reproducible searching?

Evidence synthesis, bibliometrics, scientometrics, metaresearch -- as long as you care about transparency, I'm interested

Especially if you are using non-subscription resources because you are based in the global south, or you're an independent scholar

Someone used that exact framing at an event this summer and it actually worked great.
I had been about a talk "Gen AI and genealogy" but the speaker ran through examples of LLMs outputting plausible-sounding but incorrect info about the ancestors of the people in the audience (small town historical society). Then he showed a case study of exploring the life of the same historical people via digitized census records instead - so, not just the "don't" but also the "instead"

I'm trying to figure out how grad students' theses and dissertations get added to the corpora that plagiarism detectors use, and the people who negotiate our license with Proquest and run our IR are referring me to the people who negotiate our campus license for TurnItIn....
