@psychobunny I'm making a more advanced plugin with this idea, I hope you don't mind!

RE: Recent cards installed but can not showing
@jinfagang Check all these steps:
- Install your plugin via "Find Plugins" on ACP plugins page.
- Enable your plugin on ACP.
- Rebuild and restart your NodeBB forum.
- Config the "Recent Cards" plugin in your own way at ACP plugin settings page and save by clicking on "Save Settings".
- Go to
Extend -> Widgetsand drag the "Recent Cards" widget on "Available Widgets" dropdown menu to the "Categories Header" on
categories.tpl(or wherever other page you want), like that:
- Save by hitting on the floppy disk at bottom right side.
- Go to categories list page (by default, it is the homepage) and see the result.
(NOTE: You must have at least one newly created topic to show on Recent Topics, otherwise the widget will not appear!)
RE: when I installed `nodebb-plugin-poll`，Log display warning information.
This happen because it need some maintenance.
module.parent.requireis outdated and needs to be replaced with
Just ignore that, the plugin is working perfectly anyway. I believe that the creator of the plugin will update that briefly.
RE: Profile tpl to be included in Widgets (Extend)
That would be great for a more easy way to config plugins that add new fields to the profile page, like 'nodebb-plugin-ns-custom-fields'.
We would no longer need to modify the files on the server and we would be able to do this in real time and right on the ACP panel!
RE: Reputation system disabled but still get warnings about low reputation for post frequency
It happened to me on v1.11.1 too. You can "fix" it by setting this to 0 on posts settings.
RE: Extending poll plugin to include weighted polls and more granular permissions
@mimo It doesn't work for global privileges... You have to select a category above first
RE: [nodebb-plugin-calendar] Fully featured calendar plugin for NodeBB - Testers needed
It is published.
Are you sure? My NodeBB couldn't detect it:
I had to install it through
There are just a couple small changes I'd like you to make first. I meant to send that feedback a few days ago but GitHub mobile is stupid.
Oh, okay! I already saw them, I'm working on
RE: How to do threaded replies like Reddit or Facebook?
@fireball003 There isn't any plugin that does that so far.
You can maybe try to do this with CSS only, in the "Custom Content" page on ACP.
RE: Is it possible to post a topic on all categories?
Only with plugins so far. Not even the 'clone' feature do that, it just copy selected posts to another topic but only in the same category.
It would be an interesting idea, maybe I could develop a plugin to do that, as soon as I have more free time
RE: Can't get Google Analytics to work
Julian must be aware that the GA script needs to load before the page's HTML content is loaded in order to capture any DOM changes and stuff
You don't even need a plugin for this, I think... You only need to add the Google Analytics script on <head>, so you should paste your code on ACP Custom Header Content, just like that:
Then click on the slider below "Enable Custom Header" to enable it, click on the floppy disk to save it and the code you pasted will be loaded on the <head> of all your NodeBB pages.
I have it on my site and it tracks the pages perfectly.
RE: Is it possible to post a topic on all categories?
I'm working on this but keep in mind two things:
Once you publish this "global" topic, you will not be able to edit it with just one click. You will have to individually go to all categories and edit manually... There may even be a workaround for this but it's too complex for me to develop alone and I'm not seeing a way to be able to edit the created topic in all categories at once.
And I still don't know if I can get the composer to work with the plugin, so I do not promise to get a writing through the NodeBB composer. If I can not, you will have to write the topic body manually (this implies that the user knows Markdown syntax).
Even then, would you still like to see this plugin developed?
RE: Custom homepage template
@its-brad You can install
nodebb-plugin-custom-pagesand config it like this:
Then go to ACP -> Extend -> Widgets and look for
home.tplto customize it your way with all the widgets you want.
Then go to ACP -> General -> Homepage and choose this new page to be your homepage (in this example the custom path will be
And it's done.
I think this is the only way to do what you want. This is a great plugin too if you want to extend your forum pages and it is not heavy at all.
RE: QnA, ask as a question issue
QnA plugin enabled. Tried to post a topic. Clicked the arrow button next to submit button to select "Ask as a Question" and I had a topic as a question posted. But clicking that button didn't do apparently anything and I thought initially that it wasn't working.
Yeah, I also still do not quite understand the functionality of that button...
Also, don't know if only I have that problem in particular, but after I posted a question that way any new post I make defaults as a question post.
That happens because it posts automatically the topic as a question in the categories you've selected on the plugin settings page on ACP.
If you don't select that category on the plugin settings, the topic will be normal as default when you post.
RE: Editing buttons' names/HTML of the website.
Editing the NodeBB source files should only be done if you know what you are doing... Otherwise you may break some functions.
