It’s widely stated that there is no algorithm on Mastodon (it is also true). I follow people here because I find something about the content they create and or share interesting. I’d love to see more of what _they_ find interesting.
If you don’t routinely boost, I’d like to suggest that you try to boost one toot per day. Not only will it put interesting things in my timeline, but it will help me discover others I may find interesting.
@lisamelton : this toot does not apply to you.

Got lucky today; this never happens!@sam that’s how I do Masto as well: Mentions, then notifications, then timeline in chronological order from where I left off.
To paraphrase John Siracusa, I’m a Mastodon completionist. -
Got lucky today; this never happens!@sam well done!

Does anyone else find it perplexing that Blue = Democrat / liberal and Red = Republican / Conservative?Does anyone else find it perplexing that Blue = Democrat / liberal and Red = Republican / Conservative?
I’m well used to it now, and there's certainly no going back but… when I was growing up Red = Communist which is on the left side of the political spectrum and I always associated Blue with “Blue Bloods” or the aristocracy, which tend towards conservative or right of the political spectrum.
So when I first encountered Red States & Blue States, about 15 - 20 years ago, I always got it wrong.
