We need to vote, and reach out to other voters to ensure they cast their ballot, like our lives depend on it. And then continue the work to reign in the worst excesses of capitalism.

I've spent the last 4 years learning about and involved in land use and planning. I'm all in on urbanism, and densifying the suburbs.
I just want inclusionary housing, transit oriented development, and in-fill, rather than sprawl and the latest bill of goods being peddled by people who chase bubbles.
This plan to build a new town catering to wealthy tech bros in northern Sonoma County is a one dimensional idea by people who chase bubbles.

These are sleeping giants of risk, as opposed to the giants that are already widely recognized as wreaking havoc:
The broadly extractive behavior of downstream mega-users, treating volunteers like links in a supply chain, and the toxic behavior that's been normalized in too many communities.
We sure do have our work cut out for us.
It bears repeating: the prevailing state of governance and succession planning are the sleeping giants of risk in FOSS.
Maybe not so sleepy this month, but it's an open question as to whether we take this opportunity to learn from a corner of the ecosystem that's suffering.
Solutions look like proactive governance reform, transferring assets including trademarks to neutral stewards, ongoing leadership development, and celebrating those who give up power.
