@emsquared i used hated black plastic on my raised beds to kill off weeds and during hot spells hopefully kill seeds whilst stopping new ones landing. First year I’ve tried it. Would never have that much cardboard though the latest bed had a layer of it at the bottom whilst filled with rooted grass clippings, grass covered turfs that had been under plastic, shredded tree branches from conifers taken down last year and some soil our garden builder gives us.

@emsquared I haven’t been to Glasgow for 10 years but the museum of modern art I remember as marvellous. Also been to the Baltic and the modern art gallery in Middlesbrough
