@theteapixie @chris Not sure AP makes the data available to the public since they are paid by large media outlets to do the job. Will have to hunt tomorrow to see if any of their raw data is available in user-readable form. But basically all news outlets basically get their data from them so depends on each news outlet's IT sustem on how quickly it gets to their web site, and then add to this their prediction engines that will project winner etc.

Alright fellow Canadians. -
Alright fellow Canadians.@chris The web sites allow you to check counties that are of interest to you. (For instance, Clinton County NY which borders Canada near Montréal would be of interest to me, it has been MAGA red).
Actual TV is mostly talking heads that speculate most of the time, with actual data for a couple minutes per hour. But once MAGA riots begin, they become realy important to cover them. Same with Trump's web site which will likely have a message to his cult calling then to arms.

Alright fellow Canadians.@chris I will be looking at the Youtube video dispensing machine for live feeds. There is no "Elections Canada " equivalent in the USA to collect and disseminate results, but Associated Press is the body designated by large news media to collect and distribute the raw data from each state.
Websites from CNN, ABC nd probably Faux news will likely have the better infographics/maps and counts direct from their systems which are fed by the AP data.

When I was 11 years old, a babysitter took me to see All the President’s Men.@Paulatics A better editorial would have been:
Due to the threat of retaliation against dissenting media outlets, the Washington Post has decided to not ensorse any candidate. We let our readers decide whether such threats constitute an attack on free speech and for whom they shoudl vote for.(And this is how other media outlets should spin the WaPost/Bezos fear of endorsement).

Working in an office for the sake of being "at the office" is stupid and inefficient in time, work, and environmental impact. The Pandemic taught us this and don't let your employer tell you otherwise!#ClimateAction@chris But ! But ! Working from home lacks all the office politics, the gossip about who sleeps with whom at the office, and lunches downtown.
I am curious how it panned out for companies like Apple and Google who created office environments for kids with pool tables, climbing walls, free food, dry cleaning etc and whether employees prefer to work from home or go to campus.

ONE HOUR TO GO#bcelxn2024 #bcpoli@chris I have not followed BC politics much. Is it a very close election with unknown results or is Eby the foregone conclusion and the only question remaining on how many seats he wins/loses?
I have no idea of his politics/popularity just know that This House Has 22 Minustes called him a giraffe because he is tall

Just one polling place in one riding, but it has been pretty quiet so far.#bcpoli #bcelxn2024@VE2UWY @KimberlyN @chris @GottaLaff Pardon my ignorace here, but why are there a bunch of names below the names o f president/VP candidates? And why would voting for Harris, include automatic vote for a bunch of people you may not agree with?

Imagine space aliens who visit in 200 years and find a destroyed planet.Imagine space aliens who visit in 200 years and find a destroyed planet. They learn that we were fully aware of climate change, but our political leaders would not take the actions needed TO SAVE THE PLANET in order to please oil company shareholders.
What would these space aliens think of our intelligence level? Killing our long term civilisation to short term please oil company shareholders.

The Library of parliament really does date back to the first parliament built just before 1867 and survived the 1916 fire as the only piece that was retained from the original parliament building.@Paulatics I've followed some of the work they have done to restore Notre Dame in Paris (obviously more extreme), but see many similarities in Parliament. Hope they learn the techniques used by Notre Dame. They developped a "paste" they apply to the concrete/plaster/statues which absorbs a lot of the dirt, salt, contaminents and they can then peel it off to reveal clean surface.

(then called Victoria Memorial Museum).
The current parliament partly opened in 1920, and closed in 2018 for current renovations. After 1920, construction continued for many years (icnluding the Peace tower).
