@vwbusguy I think it's related, but distinct. Conway's Law refers to a system architecture mapping to a team structure (e.g. two teams, two components; four teams, four components.) But I'm thinking more in the vein of Systems Thinking and Stocks & Flows. For example, you have some defect rate, and you fill the team's schedule with feature work. The defects can only be handled through heroic means or as a distraction from the feature work, for which engineers are incentivized.

At the same time, I think it's important to consider related systemic factors.
For example, if your organization is experiencing a high defect rate or many prolonged outages, then it's worth considering the ways in which the system is designed (explicitly or implicitly) to encourage these failures.
It's the only way to fix actual problems.

"Big tech firms have spent tens of billions of dollars on AI models, with even more extravagant promises of future outlays."Big tech firms have spent tens of billions of dollars on AI models, with even more extravagant promises of future outlays. Yet according to the latest data from the Census Bureau, only 5.1% of American companies use AI to produce goods and services, down from a high of 5.4% early this year. Roughly the same share intend to do so in the coming months."

#Valkey is on Google Cloud!@reconditerose @linux_mclinuxface Ah, interesting! Wouldn't that mean that they'd have to stay on the old version forever, migrate everyone to Valkey, or pay Redis Labs licensing fees?

#Valkey is on Google Cloud!@linux_mclinuxface I was trying to compare the pricing relative to the Redis options but didn't see an easy table. Do you know offhand whether it's cheaper than the Redis instances, that presumably need to include a licensing charge?

Some web sites seem to conflate location, language, and currency preferences. Some web sites seem to conflate location, language, and currency preferences.
While certainly not common, it's possible that you're a French-speaking person who happens to be in the United States and you're trying to use an Australian credit card, thus paying in AUD.
Assuming that being in the US means that you want to use USD and English makes for a reasonable default, but please allow people to change each independently!

The obsession to test for security feels misplaced when you see a system where dependencies are not updated, developers have little ideas about designs leading to vulnerabilities in the choice of language and deployments are driven by fast convenience ...@maaretp What's the goal of the security testing? It can be useful to get a baseline that you can then work to improve
