@theadhocracy @tchambers Same. Just noticed it using Tusky, so I’m guessing it’s a server thing—everything else seem to work okay, so it may be just Elasticsearch is down.

@tchambers I'm getting Error Code 500 responses whenever I try to search on indieweb.social. -
A million times this:https://@mattl Oh, hi! So, uh, I created wrote a WordPress plugin/API endpoint that was, well, greatly inspired by the original GNU FM

A million times this:https://I’m seriously considering moving over to said little custom CMS, and thus stop work on IndieBlocks (beyond the occasional bug fix), at least for now.
I’ll probably drop the scrobbles, too. And it’be cool to one day be able to re-add ActivityPub, but
Think I’ll wanna integrate that RSS reader first.
Had a good self-hosted feed reader going, before I tore it down (because I’d moved everything into WP). No longer interested in self-hosting a bunch of different (micro)services; I want *one app*

A million times this:https://I mean, if you wanted Webmention and all that. It definitely isn’t required. And *if* you wanted such functionality, I’m going to *guess* ActivityPub is in fact the way forward.

A million times this:https://And, dare I say it, IndieBlocks¹ exists.
1. A *single* silly plugin that adds Webmention and microformats to *any* “modern²” (self-hosted) WordPress site.
2. Of course if you hate Gutenberg, hate WordPress, or hate both, it isn’t going to be for you. That’s okay.I was one day going to “offer” a “managed” version of it over at https://www.indie.lol, but I probably won’t/shouldn’t

https://martymcgui.re/2024/08/29/141602/ #indiewebMy incredibly poor attempt at summarizing: 1. There is no “the way,” and 2. Micro.blog (the service) *exists*

guess what's coming soon to a #WordPress blog near you?@pfefferle (The Facepile block that comes with the IndieBlocks plugin should be compatible, too.) Agree about caching; on my site, I set up a filter that handles it for me. @linos

I once tried writing a simple ActivityPub server in PHP and Laravel but never made it past accepting “follows” and sending “create” requests.
Either way, if I ever pick up work on my custom CMS, I now know where to look in order to add ActivityPub support to it!

Excited to be "working" on #ShareOnMastodon (a silly #WordPress plugin) again, although I'm starting to wonder if any extra features shouldn't go into a "premium" add-on plugin, for instance.Excited to be "working" on #ShareOnMastodon (a silly #WordPress plugin) again, although I'm starting to wonder if any extra features shouldn't go into a "premium" add-on plugin, for instance.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not planning to drop #ActivityPub, although it comes with quite some quirks still. (Someone drops a reply, then changes their avatar: Yay, you've now got broken images [potentially] all over your blog. Also, you can't, e.g., not federate specific posts or categories.)
