Sorry, no it wasn't. It was addressed to @baris, since we ran the test on community.nodebb.org (and are actually wondering what is hitting our page).

We (@murcs and I) just checked, if we could observe the same issues on your system as we do on our production system.
We simply cannot reproduce it here which raises one question on our side:

• Are you running the latest version of NodeBB or is this site running on a nightly build?

If not, we are about to do deeper investigations on our side.

one of my clickpathes:
settings->navigation->icon
differing to your screenshot my reads 'type to filter icon'. Yours is reading 'type to search icons'. Is there any additional setting or plugin, I need to activate or install?

obviously I am searching in the wrong place:

it does not display 'search' but 'filter'. Actually I have no idea where to find the form to search an icon. Can someone please guide me there?

Given that 1500 icons are too much to display, I am wondering HOW I can use one of the not displayed one. I have the feeling only the displayed one are available I am looking for books-open and basketball-ball

We are currently running 2.8.11 (we will upgrade later the month)

I already reported this on github - this is just for the information of other users:
There seems to be a bug in saving group information. I noticed it, when trying to display some badges for certain groups. I faced the situation on

• NodeBB version: 1.16.1

Steps to reproduce are:

- Admin->Manage->Groups ->click'Show Badge'
- Saving information 'Success Changes saved!' is displayed
- Leave Page ->'You have unsaved changes. Are you sure you wish to navigate away?' is displayed
- Re-check resent changes: Changes not saved for checkboxes: 'Show Badge', 'Private', 'Disable join requests', 'Disallow users from leaving the group', 'Hidden'

Once you raised your questions, @Paul-Chambers, my seems to fit even better as I believed.

I am facing the following problem. Since our forum is sport related there tends to be lot of communication during game time (aka: Ooh what a monster block). We would like to move those shouts into a chat. Other as shoutbox or global chat everybody should be able to sign in or out to that chat by his own.
So my question seems to come down to:

• is there the possibility to sign into (and out of) a chat room

I am not absolutely sure, but I believe I saw the possibility to create a chatroom using the API in one of the above mentioned plugins.

It finally showed up - but that definitely took a quite a while. Maybe I was fooled by cached content?

As far as I understood most of the discussion is made there. Furthermore I understood that the GDPR plugin was made for migrating old forums to the new consent mostly required by EU regulations in May 2018. So my problem in 2021 is:

I would like to ask all our users to consent once again AND to change the sources they are consenting to. I thought the gdpr plugin might be helpful - but as far as I understand I am not capable to unset the consent state with it. So basically my questions are two:

• how do I unset the consent state of (all) users?
• are they forced to consent for the next login?

Installed the plugin, it does show up in the installed plugin list. Once I click the button 'Settings' the spinner starts and does not stop. No additional information in the logfile unfortunately

admin->advanced->logger it is possible to configure a custom/devel log (works like charm). I'd like to rotate this logfile using the software (and not logrotate.d) since the rotation of the 'main' logfile is already done within the software I thought of adopting the method in loader.js, Therefore I was looking for the place in the code, where the devel.log is defined/created.

I would like to adopt the logrotation out of

loader.js

for the devel log but have trouble to loacate the file, where it is created.

One of our users reported the following:

Posts are sorted incorrectly in the feed in case of updates (at the time of the update of the post)
[...]
In the XML/RSS, the order of the posts is correct, but the publication date of the edited post is updated. At least this confuses my feed reader

Is this a known issue?

That's a German basketball community which is running for almost 18 years by now. We thought about moving form our own software to NodeBB for quite a few years and were more or less forced to do so end of last year.

Your quick reply (and example) made it easier for us to identify it as a layer 8 problem. Our subcategories did not have the expected rights. Sorry for raising this as a bug!
