Wouldn't that cause unneeded bloat to have the chat system and a full separate PM system you are describing? Unfortunately FB for better or worse has set a standard and has become the normal.

I'm trying to get a general idea of people's background in JS. I'm totally new to it, I've only dabbled in JS files for quick editing. I feel it's the one language I want to fully understand and learn.

Would you recommend Treehouse or any other online program? Unfortunately my college has no classes for it and the classes I have taken have been outdated.

New to the whole linux system. I am trying to setup SFTP for my server and followed Digital Ocean's doc on the subject however I do not know how to exit from the file I edited.

I tried typing ^X to exit but it didn't work. What am I doing wrong?

Is it possible to add a generator inside the plugin itself to create badges on the fly?

Lol just saw the CSS you did. That looks great! That didn't take long did it? Can that be built into the backend so admin can create on the fly?

I'm not too familiar with using CSS for images other than resizing. CSS Tricks had a good write up on CSS vs SVG.

If you're building an icon system for a site, you have some options. If you know the icons need to be raster images, then you'll likely be using CSS sprites.

On another note, your all probably aware of Achievements for Wordpress. (The guy works on Buddypress). You upload the graphic for the achievement and assign in a select amount of karma points and base it off an event like total post count, uploading avatar and so on. In the user panel the admin can check off which badges can be assigned and in the frontend the user will receive a light box notification of the award.

Could we tie the badges app into the reputation program you have here?
