Can you imagine how thick The Post would be if they printed a story like this for *every* fender bender like this that happened in NYC for ONE DAY?

When it comes to selecting a calculus textbook my most petty complaint is that most books are simply to large and bloated. When it comes to selecting a calculus textbook my most petty complaint is that most books are simply to large and bloated. Giving these to schoolchildren is some kind of OSHA violation. In a way because books are often now digital packages the “text” could be distilled from the problem sets, extra examples, sus math history, dated “hello kids” photos etc. can all go online …
The book itself can be a slim little number. It’s not like there is all that much to it! come on!

An analyst estimates that Apple is selling 12% fewer iPhone 16s in its first week of sales than it did iPhone 15s last year. It’s always important to take these analyst reports with a grain of salt as they are estimates not facts. The threat of AI is making me want it less. Maybe in a year or two this horrible trend will pass and there will be some more focus on the camera, battery life, and heck... colors.

Found this drawing I made of a sneaky beetle (Paussus favieri,).Found this drawing I made of a sneaky beetle (Paussus favieri,). They have pheromones that fool army ants into thinking they belong and munch on ant larvae when no one is watching. A real villain!

Wanting to live in the end times is kind of cowardly since it absolves of you of the burden of building a better future.Wanting to live in the end times is kind of cowardly since it absolves of you of the burden of building a better future. Some great compelling force will come down from on high and sort it all out.
Since you don't really know what times you face it's more responsible and brave to live as if these are the "Beginning Times" instead. And with great effort you may do a tiny bit of good that lasts a few decades beyond your grave.

Contemporary car design is so ugly.Contemporary car design is so ugly. Every car looks like an old man who got too much plastic surgery with angry anime eyes. The forms are neither geometric and pure, nor are the taken from nature— it’s just a pointless collision of swooshes like the Nike logo and swerves that gesture at aerodynamics without being functional or beautiful to behold. The colors are aggressively frumpy— the textures plastic so that even when brand new they do not shine.

This "they are eating our cats" stuff is going to break me mentally. This "they are eating our cats" stuff is going to break me mentally. The same people who wanted to vote for the guy who cut up a whale and eat a bear. The same people who don't show up to school on the first day of hunting season.
IDK if anyone was eating the ducks of Ohio. I do not not care. The USA is a hellscape of people eating creatures and no one but the vegans can talk.
The cats stuff? I thought ya'll didn't even like cats. Nonsense fueled by racism.

"Can you imagine you’re a parent and your son leaves the house and you say, ‘Jimmy, I love you so much, go have a good day at school’ and your son comes back with a brutal operation, can you even imagine this? What the hell is wrong with our country?"I don't plan on watching the debate. I will likely read transcripts and look at some clips. I'm curious what sort of people *will* be watching? In theory "the American people" will tune in to get to know Harris better and see what Trump does. It's supposed to be a big event but is anyone really looking forward to it?
Sadly I think what will matter most is that Harris never look 'rattled' that she projects total confidence and calm.

"Can you imagine you’re a parent and your son leaves the house and you say, ‘Jimmy, I love you so much, go have a good day at school’ and your son comes back with a brutal operation, can you even imagine this? What the hell is wrong with our country?"Just one example of the kind of steaming whoppers that are typical of Trump's rhetoric. Calling everyone he dislikes a communist happens so often it's hardly worth mentioning. He claims that he won an election he lost, that the nation is going to hell, that "migrant crime" has us all cowering in our homes.
I find myself agreeing with those who say there isn't much to be gained from a "debate" --you can't debate the counterfactual.

Trump has made this kind of claim multiple times. It is not a joke, he either thinks this happens or thinks he can convince people it happens.
How do you even respond to such nonsense?

For Immediate Release: It has come to the attention of Pica's staff that many people find the ner'dowells commonly known as "birds" 'cute' and even 'harmless.' Pica has used her very sharp and pointy ears to uncover the true nature of the birds who loiter on her roof. Needless to say their evil plans are not for the feint of heart. Please send $38 & 2 cans of tuna to her P.O. box for an exclusive podcast on the secret plans of the birds.

People wear these bags to school. What do you call them?Ok this is getting more complicated that I thought.
-
People wear these bags to school. What do you call them? But more seriously:
bookbag - a bag with two straps worn on the back to school for carrying books and other school supplies
backpack - a similar bag for long distance hiking
rucksack - a bookbag with one strap for tough guys
schoolbag - those leather straps for holding books in a stack like an old time-y person.
-
People wear these bags to school. What do you call them?If it's full of BOOKS why would you call it a back pack? It's not full of backs!

In Johnstown PA one of Trump's fans was overcome with anger after Trump disparaged the press and attacked them. All the headlines are like "Man restrained at Johnstown Trump rally..." some even have a tone of it being another attempt on his life from the evil evil left.
It should be "Trump incites violence against the press at rally, calls attacker 'beautiful'"

In Johnstown PA one of Trump's fans was overcome with anger after Trump disparaged the press and attacked them.I still find it disgusting that anyone would try to strike or restrain a member of the press. I learned that value growing up... but how does it stay alive if they don't care about themselves?
