Having various servers also enables a conversation around #moderation that Spez could never be bothered to even pretend to care about.
The next big VC idea just dropped at #bluesky:
1️⃣ Build a social network with 20M+ users managed by a tiny staff of 20.
2️⃣ Let everyone in - trolls, hate groups, and the worst corners of the internet.
3️⃣ Make users handle moderation with endless blocklists.
4️⃣ Sell it to the highest bidder and bail.

It’s immensely satisfying to be able to have these #moderation discussions within our #lemmy communities.
The ability to create and run entire chunks of the lemmyverse as we see fit is the #fediverse secret cause that no other #socialmedia ecosystem can offer.
While #reddit may have an immense user base, we’ll be here much longer (*cough* Digg *cough*) because at the end of the day WE control what Lemmy is. Spez and the investors have zero incentive to listen to users. “Look at those MAU’s!!”
