The astronomy and astrology names in English, Italian and many European languages are mostly deities', people's, animals' names in Latin or Greek.
e.g. Leo is lion, not only as the constellation but also as the animal, and Leo is the nickname for most people named Leonardo or Leone here in Italy.
Doesn't sound exotic nor ridicule to us, neither do Luna and Larissa (although most people probably ignore both the deity and the satellite Larissa).
For deities it is a bit of a chicken and egg problem to know if the name comes from the celestial body or viceversa, then people choose to name people after this or that...
