@atax1a (sorry if this was completely out of line. it's entirely theoretical for me anyways because i couldn't afford it anyway!)

everyone all "get a passport" and we're like what are we gonna do with it@atax1a a lot of voices i respect, i could hear because they moved from places that became just as bad as feared

everyone all "get a passport" and we're like what are we gonna do with it@atax1a also, by joining local antifascist movements as a migrant, you may or may not be able to participate in the elections depending on their laws,
which isn't great, since fascism loves being nativist, allowing your support and your people to be undermined with the same stone.
however, it's also possible that by moving away from a bad enough place, you won't die! so, i refuse to judge anyone who does this outright.

everyone all "get a passport" and we're like what are we gonna do with it@atax1a some places have had less of a recent sustained history of ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of the property they're still intending to flip for extra money later on,
but it seems like fighting for your homeland, however tenuous, is probably easier than fighting for a new land as a migrant without just joining someone else's cause. (someone has to be left, to have a cause)
i'd love to see something from the past that did otherwise though
