I had issues myself especially with the getting it to work with the domain name and not having the port number showing either. I spent way more than 5 hours working on it too. I spent atleast 3 hours a day for close to a week. Yes it would be nice if the forum software was more user friendly for non techie types (which I am techie to a point) but then I found a wonderful managed host that has a custom Ubuntu install that installs just the bare minimum and in the custom install is a one click installer for NodeBB and several other scripts that are supposedly harder to install and no problems at all. Wish you the best of luck and hope you get your issues resolved.

New to NodeBBI'm new to the whole NodeBB thing. Have been using PHP based forums for awhile now most recently xenForo and I am really loving this concept in forums. I finally after many many tries managed to get NodeBB installed on a small $5 Linode VPS and I am loving it. Had to use a version of Linux I am not familiar with (not that I am familiar with any version of Linux). I am used to using CentOS but to get it to work I had to use Ubuntu which the guide really really helped with just a few issues on my end. Anyways keep up the awesome work and maybe I'll actually start a forum using this software as it seems really awesome.

Who is using NodeBB?Just started a new forum using NodeBB after having used several other forum software packages and I am loving how modern NobeBB is. If you are a college football (American football) then come check out my site. Power 5. It's nothing special at the moment but I am constantly working on it. So let me know what you think.
