Huh, despite the fact that over 40% of the UK's energy mix is from sustainable sources, these sources are priced at the same level as *gas*.@yassie_j in theory it gives cheap producers additional profit with which to build more capacity too -
Huh, despite the fact that over 40% of the UK's energy mix is from sustainable sources, these sources are priced at the same level as *gas*.@yassie_j in most electricity markets, everyone bids a price per kW, they take the cheapest set of generators that satisfies demand, then everyone gets paid at the price of the most expensive selected source
Otherwise everyone would just increase their price to just below the break point anyway -
What on earth have I ordered@jason this is really gonna depend upon how your feel about Vanilla Coke, tbh. It's like Vanilla Coke with notes of oreo -
What on earth have I ordered@vyr that's definitely like, the closest flavour equivalent -

In systemd we started to do more and more Varlink IPC (instead of or 9n addition to D-Bus), and you might wonder what that is all about. In this AllSystemsGo talk I try to explain things a bit, enjoy: https://media.ccc.de/v/all-systems-go-2024-276-varl...@pid_eins @swick (for my use case I don’t need PID - UID suffices)

So... Has anyone on here actually talked with the people from the #SocialWebFoundation?@puppygirlhornypost2 @mia @hazelnoot @kouhai @Raccoon entropy exhaustion is a stupid concept (you can't destroy entropy! This is basic thermodynamics!!) promulgated by the fact that the Linux RNG was badly designed for a long time and had stupid "entropy accounting"
The RNG no longer "depletes" entropy -
Once every two years or so I decide I’ll fly somewhere and without fail it’s an experience that does a perfect job of reminding me why I take the train everywhere even if it takes 12 hours longer sometimesTo be fair to the flying experience, perhaps mine would be substantially less crap if my local airport weren’t the one who’s construction process was so incompetent there’s a board game about not building it

Once every two years or so I decide I’ll fly somewhere and without fail it’s an experience that does a perfect job of reminding me why I take the train everywhere even if it takes 12 hours longer sometimesMy flight is one hour delayed because BER only has one wheelchair ramp for disembarking and it was busy when the plane arrived. Incredible.

Or if ventilation is particularly bad or I'm especially concerned, there's always the "poke head out of door at station" option -

Two years ago: plane pulled up at wrong gate. Checked luggage went into wrong baggage handling company. Stuck at baggage collection for an hour. Today: security scanner jammed and ate my coat for an hour.
Fortunately the plane is half an hour late so I’m not dealing with “I missed my flight” frustration

@hazelnoot@hazelnoot @Raccoon @mia @puppygirlhornypost2 probably only for public posts, those are the most in need anyway
