Thanks for the info! I'll stick with my idea of leaving it to the person who made the other plugin to possibly add it to their mod.

Love Nodebb - Some thoughtsHi all,
I want to say first that this is a wonderful piece of software and my hats go off to the developers.
I've personally been using IPB for two of my websites and honestly; it's a bit of a headache to deal with. Once node becomes more stable I will def look to switch them over.
Some things I would be interested to see:
1.) Ability to control the menu bar2.) The custom home page feature is great, I'd like to see it expanded into a feature that we can actually add multiple pages. Sort of like what IP.content is offering.
3.) Botscout, stop spammer integration.
If I think of more I'll be sure to reply I know this is a growing community and the support here is 100x better than IPB's so that is a HUGE plus for a guy like me. I'm not 100% tech savy, but with a little help I can figure things out on my own. I set up my server finally....but that took like 3 days but I did it!
Cheers!

[nodebb-plugin-custom-homepage] Basic CMS plugin - custom homepageAH! I didn't' even see that! Thanks! Are there any plans to add a custom menu in the admin page? That would go hand in hand with this addon. Thanks again for all the hard work you guys do!

Questions for the guru'sYeah, I seem to have figured it out haha I finally decided on using the webmin cp to set up my server. It defaults installs apache but once I got it going I removed it and installed nginx. Once I set it up, I was able to edit the server config through webmin and create my proxy to point the website to the right port.

[nodebb-plugin-openfantasy] Full-fledged RPG system for NodeBB- Well once I finally got my site up and running I tried to install the rpg mod again and it kills the site
Correction, when I did the npm install from the console it is fine now. Installing it from the admin page somehow messed it up.

Questions for the guru'sShould be back up
I noticed that my nginx wasn't updated and that was an issue. Looks like it's working fine now.

Questions for the guru'sHm, well I think I might have figured it out.
I'm using Ajenti's V webserver admin panel to assist me and they have a plugin for node.js.
I simply plugged in the port numbers that my script was running on and volia, it's seems to be port forwarding and the site is actually working now it seems without an issue knock on wood -
Questions for the guru'sThink it could be an issue with the nginx config

Questions for the guru'sWell I noticed a slight hiccup. For some reason now when you try to login/register the page does nothing. Anyone have this happen before?

Questions for the guru'sWell after 2 days of playing and destroying my droplet at least 10 times. I finally managed to get a little understanding of how ubuntu works.

[nodebb-plugin-openfantasy] Full-fledged RPG system for NodeBB@psychobunny
I did a little test today on the battle system and noticed that the npc and my character were always missing each other. I was finally able to flee from the battle after a few failed attempts. I'll do a clean install tonight and try again. On another note, thanks for your hard work with this project. I know it's been a few years and I'm excited to see it back.
One thing I wish the old system had that maybe this one can, is the ability to customize what abilities, classes, names etc in the system. So, the term "Spirit Points" I could change in the admin to "Life Points" . If that makes any sense.

Questions for the guru'sI'm a little intimidated by the command line at this point so I was looking to see if a simple gui system could help me as I ease into the command lines. The tutorial that was written to set up node.js and nodebb was perfect but I just don't know how the directory structure of ubuntu works. Guess it's my personal learning experience Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Questions for the guru'sWell , I think it installed apache onto the server but I'm just playing around with it at this point to see what works best.

[nodebb-plugin-custom-homepage] Basic CMS plugin - custom homepageLooks like another great app. For some reason I can't get it to work. Is there an admin area to edit the front page?

Questions for the guru'sSo I got my virtual server up and running and I decided to use virtualmin/webmin to assist me rather than use all the command line codes (ouch my eyes/head)
My question now is, how do I get nodebb to stop using the port number after the domain name? (ie. mydomain.com:port)
Thanks for the feedback!
PS
I've read some forum post about this, https://github.com/designcreateplay/NodeBB/wiki/Configuring-Apache-as-a-proxy-to-NodeBB
but when I try: sudo a2enmod proxy_html it says the module isn't there. Thanks in advance for the help!

Seems to have worked! The RPG link is now at the top of the menu Thanks for your help. I'll test it out and see if any others want to help over on FB. I think I should get a domain name instead of the ip though. So, I'll work on it. Thanks again! I'll report back anything I see or have questions about.
