Is there a way to do this automatic? we just use grouping for administration, users cant group on their own. we just want to show the real admins and moderators and forbid this option to choose to normal users

So I tried the command cd /var/www/mynodebb/ && sudo ./nodebb start and it worked manually like a charme but when I try to auto start this as a script it still fails, here is what I did (running ubuntu 14.04 lts @ ec2 instance):

1. sudo vi /usr/local/bin/autostart.sh

#!/bin/sh
cd /var/www/mynodebb && sudo ./nodebb start

2. sudo chmod 4755 autostart.sh

3. sudo vi /etc/xdg/autostart/vmware-user.desktop

[Desktop Entry]

Exec=/usr/bin/vmware-user-suid-wrapper
Name=VMware User Agent

doesn't work... but as I' reading this I might guess that it doesn't work because I don't load any "Desktop" or GUI!? I use this method because of the autostart wiki of ubuntu

@julian thanks for the reply! I'm not sure if you mean that I simply have to add the server under my given config or integrate it like the already given server www.domain.com. I've had problems first because I had to login twice when I switched domains, this problem got solved by the rewrite... permanent option:

I'm usually starting my nodebb forum by switching into the nodebb dir and then do:

sudo node ./loader start

works, but doesn't start when the system is rebooting. I tried to add the command to to a scriptfile and exec it in /etc/xdg/autostart/ But then I found out that using the whole path of loader.js doesn't work. so ie:

sudo node /var/www/mynodebb/loader start doesn't work but changing into the mynodebb dir and type

sudo node ./loader start

works... Can somebody explain me what I'm doing wrong?

i'm currently working on a nodeBB 0.6.1 Forum and we love the tile view for mobile or tablet mode. But when it comes to a desktop view we would like to get a more classy view like a woltlab or vbulletin, where we see home view as a list, for example

subcategories
Sub infos

No tiles, no previews. Is there a plugin or an option where we can realize something like this?

I'd like to use 0.6.1 view with tiles for mobile/tablet and kind of 0.7 view with desktop. Possible?
