I don't really want to get embroiled in the social media wars, different people need & want different things from it, but I am pleased to see a lot of people I liked are now abandoning Twitter.

There are people I missed & I am now finding them again; some here, more at Bluesky.

I *am* surprised at the level of optimism about Bluesky. I can understand a bit of "this is like Twitter used to be when it was good", but that is buried deep under "but for how long?" for me.

Two years ago today I finally settled in the fediverse after deciding we'd make our own instance & give it a proper go.

I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you, because I've been more at home here than I have been anywhere online for a long time & I've met many lovely people who have welcomed me & my silliness. I even have an emotional support chicken of my own as a result, & my goodness I need her atm.

I know it's grim day, but sod it, it's always appropriate to say thank you, so...

Spent some time today finding Small Good Things. Can recommend, although I did get a little soggy.

The main subject of this photo was meant to be far beyond this group of trees, but I messed up the focus and when I looked at it on the computer the only clear bit was this cheeky soul in the corner. Nice tree though. Quite the cutie-pie.

So a cup of tea and some quick scribbling later and I can no longer avoid the fact that I am feeling fine other than a slightly sore arm, and should really do a few chores. I might add a bit more to this thread when I've finished going through the final photos.

There is a wooden bridge over the narrow part of the loch & this year it was glitter-balled up and I LOVED it. Also featured frogs nearby, which glowed mysteriously in most of my photos but we managed to capture one in detail!

Some photos from a night time walk round Loch Dunmore, in Faskally Forest near Pitlochry. The event runs every year in October & is lovely.

Huge trees lit up, themed decorations & some set pieces combining lights and music. It's a treat.
