Iβm like the king in the Last Unicorn for whom the only thing that brings him joy is shoving all the unicorns in the sea, except the unicorns are ice cream and the sea is my mouth.@aud brb, creating a tiny coliseum to fill with gummy sharks, peachy penguins, swedish fish, and gummy bears

trying out targetβs "drive up" where you order groceries ahead of time and they just unload them into your car (my mom did this and I was forced to get it).@puppygirlhornypost2 you're providing cover β
using these services makes it more likely they will be around in ten years for the folks whose lives are made much more independent by them!

@tjhexf it's easier if i point at the DSM-V but here you go:@puppygirlhornypost2 @tjhexf this is a hugely important insight! i'm sorry you had to learn it.
the things in ones medical records are overwhelmingly used to hurt patients.
i routinely tell doctors NOT to chart specific things we talk about and often get medications out-of-pocket to keep them off my "record".
all this stuff gets weaponized by insurers when they want to deny coverage or - at worst - cops and the legal system should you ever be thrown into it.
it's so bad β

So, I don't watch much YouTube, but I just dug into some instructional videos and had to watch a bunch of ads.@the_etrain @snarl it's also very likely they do targeted ads based on who they think the audience watching the videos is. even if you're watching entirely anodyne making/crafting content, you will often be served prepper/right-wing/off-grid grifter slop.
if you're blocking ads and browser/canvas profiling and block shitty channels it's better, but sometimes still bad. if you watch firearms or military history videos, it's even worse.

So, I don't watch much YouTube, but I just dug into some instructional videos and had to watch a bunch of ads.@the_etrain @snarl ad networks track/deannonymize you across sites by pooling data they collect on users, tracking cookies, IPs/IP ranges, profiling device types/resolution/browser type and more to serve ads based on whatever their internal model is.
as snarl said, this might be based on relatively precise location, IP, assumed age, what you've searched for on any site that uses google adsense, facebook ads, and hundreds of others.

"How dare you celebrate death" sorry, but what are stock buybacks and excessive executive compensation packages using money stolen from people you let die anything BUT celebrating death?@aud what is an earnings call but celebrating social murder at the cost of the most vulnerable in the worst time of their lives?
