I saw the thread about hachyderm costs yesterday. And my mind went directly to „maybe there can be an API that client apps can use to collect payments for a server you logged into as well and each server could specify what they need to keep it rubbing sustainably“
And then the client could remind you at some later point that you could consider supporting your server and x is what your server asks for to keep running.
Not sure whether it makes sense.
