@82mhz Totally. So, did some testing and found that FreeTube can export channels into an opml file. This means you can do a Google Takeout of your subscriptions, import to FreeTube, then export from FreeTube to opml, and then import in a feed reader. Just tested it and worked with FreshRSS.

Has #invidous changed something about the RSS feeds from Youtube channels? -
Has #invidous changed something about the RSS feeds from Youtube channels?@82mhz I've been following YT channels using the feed URL generated by YT. It is kind of a PITA because you have to find the channel ID, but once you have it you will get a true RSS feed.
For example using DB tech, the feed URL is like this:
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UCVy16RS5eEDh8anP8j94G2AAll you need to do is change the channel ID at the end of the URL. There are some web tools to get them. I've also seen people got to the channel page and the using the browser inspect tool to find it. The way I did it was through NewPipe/Tubular on my phone. When you go to a channel there is a feed button. I bet a desktop app like FreeTube does the same.

New blog post@jnv This is great and a cool way to use LocalSend. For a TV interface, check out SmartTube. It is a lean back interface, but blocks ads and connects with DeArrow and SponsorBlock. Works great on our TV, plus the Chromecast with Google TV, and the Walmart Onn TV box.

Early thoughts on the Duet 3 as my EDC laptop

Anyone aware of a read-it-later desktop or mobile app that is not a service or connects to the cloud? An app where all of the data lives on-device only?Anyone aware of a read-it-later desktop or mobile app that is not a service or connects to the cloud? An app where all of the data lives on-device only?
For context: Apps like Omnivore and Pocket work well, but connect to a remote server. I'm looking for something similar to an RSS reader where you add your own feeds and it is on device only, like Liferea on desktop or Feeder on Android. I know things like Linkwarden and Wallabag exist, but I'm looking for something that doesn't need a server component. It happens just in the app and never leaves my device.

I was inspired by @computersandblues and @kaimac yesterday (plus @stevelord today) and decided to test out running a website from an old phone. Last night I made a mirror of my blog running on a Verizon Pixel 5 using only Termux.Update: I moved the blog back to my Debian server. Absolutely nothing wrong with running the blog from this Pixel phone and never once had any issues. I just have too many misc devices around and I wanted to consolidate. It's also the end of my solar panel testing. Now it happily runs in a VM but I can move it back at anytime.

I have a laptop I setup with Win10 & has all the apps I use configured.@jnv I originally set it up for a project, then never used it. Now I'm considering using it as my main PC since I'm shuffling some computers around in the house. So I'm debating if I should set up yet another desktop or just try to make this work.

Do I stick with Win10 or go through all the work to install a Linux distro? No gaming, just typical workstation use. It's a 6th gen Intel with Nvidia 940m GPU & honestly the GPU works better on Win10.

I am just not interested in podcasts any more.I am just not interested in podcasts any more. I have been listening to podcasts since I got my first mp3 player in 2004-ish. I've just got tired of, honestly, the half-assed effort put into most productions. I don't mean the sound quality or editing, but the actual content. The low quality content is driven by the the fake requirement to publish on a schedule and to have more episodes so you can bill for more ads.
I'd rather you hold the content until it's your best instead of publishing every week.
