- Single column (redesign?) actually has gray background https://www.threads.net/@geographybygeoff/post/C7CXP23xutH
- It allows pinning up to 100 feeds https://www.threads.net/@kurtwag8/post/C7CR4hDr4Rq -

Article: https://techcrunch.com/2024/05/16/threads-testing-pinned-columns-on-the-web-like-tweetdeck/
Observations, judging from screenshots:
- It allows pinning accounts
- It introduces gray background to fill the white space for this layout instead of the single-column version โ๏ธ
- Corner radius got way more rounded, including the images/videos, for some reasonโฆ
- Make sense for them to build it as there won't be any 3rd-party #Threads clients. -

I think following specific hashtags of a profile would be useful.@box464 still too hacky. This is in fact like the inversed version of keyword filtering but for specific accounts.
Even if this is implemented (on Mastodon or any mainstream platforms), it'll probably take time for people to shift their mindset over this. Another problem that someone mentioned is that the hashtag following won't work for boosts, if say, boosting music-related posts, which may not be hash-tagged, from a music-interest account.
-
I think following specific hashtags of a profile would be useful.@box464 oh nice, didn't know that it can filter to specific users too โ I'm also using antennas to keep track of keywords.
Got to say it's a pretty advanced interface and not as straightforward as just clicking 'Follow' buttons

I think following specific hashtags of a profile would be useful.I think following specific hashtags of a profile would be useful. Technically it's like following a profile but the timeline posts filtered by specific hashtags. Perhaps similar logic on Mastodon, to hiding boosts from profile or filtering posts by subscribed languages.
Could probably solve the issue where folks create multiple accounts for different interests or circles.

List of servers from @fedidb. Numbers are outdated now but should give a rough idea on the scale.

On a lesser note, I just want to star repos and they go into the same stars list. Open an issue and I can see a list of issues I reported across them all.

Spent too much time on this. I would call this a media-first UI experience (IG, Pixelfed). Only on my local #PhanpySocialDev Screenshots for before and after. Now deployed on #PhanpySocialDev (dev.phanpy.social). Media-first UI experience only kicks in for #Pixelfed account log-ins. Basic features work, except:
- Local and Federated timeline show the same thing
- Trending, Bookmarks, Reply, Lists, and Filters don't work
- Notifications page showing duplicate notificationsThe rest needs more testing , though I'm not sure how much feature-detection can be done to hide unsupported features.

Spent too much time on this. I would call this a media-first UI experience (IG, Pixelfed). Only on my local #PhanpySocialDev Screenshots for before and after.Current progress: Pixelfed web vs Phanpy.
Most photos/images look really good on Pixelfed, so following pixelart hashtag could be an edge case, possibly unfair comparison, as some images can be smaller. The carousel UI is probably useless too since all of the images can fit in, but oh well โ๏ธ
On Phanpy, some existing features are preserved for this media-first UI including followed hashtag indicator and 'ALT' badge.
#PhanpySocialDev (still local dev)
