HEY! Check out this update to my #Emissary demo I posted a couple weeks ago:https://kumi.tube/w/pmqy4eUy6iz88Z6Rh1cM5KWe're working to make a #Federated alternative to #Bandcamp where up and coming bands can connect with fans and share their music on ...@benpate my partner is an artist, I have some ideas for restaurants / food producers.
I’ve also been looking at Meetup-type communities who need to get the heck off event platforms (but maybe still link out for registration)
I’ve been thinking about this generally and liked what Takahe had written about a kind of landing page first approach — and that you’ve built. 🥳
There are many hard parts of adoption / distribution but it looks like a solid start!

It’s pretty much what I had imagined for a “small business” all in one package (which makes sense - musicians are SMBs of a particular type).

Post from @rabble on why he's chosen to use #Nostr and not #ActivityPub and the #Fediverse. He makes some compelling points. Personally I am not too worried about the server admin parts of his argument (I have enough control, even if I don't control th...@tchambers @ricmac @rabble Pixelfed only does it on sign up and all it does is copy over profile info. Then you need to use your Pixelfed login.
Multi server / types of notes “joint” accounts would make the different AP Servers / types useful but it needs a lot more than “login with OAuth”. That saves a password but you still have multiple accounts.

I wish there was a hacker-owned co-op for manufacturing and distrubiting the self-serviceable hardware to offer these kinds of community services: https://mastodon.social/@angusm/112153171315765088@Zee the UniFi devices (for example) let you segment networks securely, run multiple wireless IDs and so on.
My friend set up his co-op. Other than very small buildings this has to be done somewhat professionally…. But has recurring income attached to it!

In some places, “just” a business line might make it possible.
