@octothorpe I suppose so, but the Federation made a stupid ass treaty, tbh.

Somehow the Maquis resistance fighters were the bad guys and the Bajoran resistance fighters were the good guys but both were fighting the Cardassians. #tng -

Been trying to think about why.
Part of it is that I feel like I know too much. I can imagine how I'd implement a thing almost immediately and therefore the challenge is over and the rest is just typing.
Part of it is that I like to work on stuff that is going to be used but I know from long experience that weekend side projects never get finished and are virtually never revisited.

Sometimes I run across a blog that uses a serif font and I start noticing it when I realize it's easier to read than usual. Perhaps there's too much sans serif these days.Sometimes I run across a blog that uses a serif font and I start noticing it when I realize it's easier to read than usual. Getting some steroids and muscle relaxers for my back pains.Doctor said Prednisone can make you feel energetic so it should be taken in the morning, but of course I took the first dose immediately when I picked it up from the pharmacy because pain hurts.
Except now I feel like I've had 10 cups of coffee.

In the meantime on the recommendation of @chrisdejabet, my wife picked up a TENS unit and it has made a huge difference with handling the pain/discomfort.
Basically it shocks the muscles in various patterns and seems to work to loosen them up and break through the apparently stupid default muscle settings that my body firmware shipped with.

I really like picking up and holding the Playdate that lives on my desk, but I never actually use it and it makes me sad. If you're on mastodon.social and use the web UI, I just realized you can enable grouped notifications in the settings now! Much nicer.@renchap lol - okay I just now had it happen again after I sent my last reply to you.
I initiated my reply to you while on the notifications tab, but I paused typing briefly and clicked on Home to check something. Then resumed typing my reply in the composer.
After I hit send, I switched back to notifications. Mentions was selected from before, so I selected "All" and then saw the thin loading indicator and the moment the loading bar got to the end, the [...] appeared at the top of the column.

If you're on mastodon.social and use the web UI, I just realized you can enable grouped notifications in the settings now! Much nicer.@renchap but it could be something like iCloud private relay doing something dumb, perhaps, in a way that breaks the web socket I suppose. I realize this is likely not too helpful since there are far too many things that could go wrong.

If you're on mastodon.social and use the web UI, I just realized you can enable grouped notifications in the settings now! Much nicer.@renchap well I can't say for certain that I don't sometimes drop offline if maybe the ISP does something weird.. or Safari does.. but the [...] buttons definitely appear sometimes without the computer having gone to sleep.
This morning I was on a Slack voice call and was scrolling around Mastodon. One of the times I clicked over to notifications, the [...] was suddenly there despite not having been there prior and that's when I decided to msg you. The Slack voice call hadn't faltered, anyway.

If you're on mastodon.social and use the web UI, I just realized you can enable grouped notifications in the settings now! Much nicer.@renchap this probably isn't the best way to file a bug/feedback about the grouped notifications, but since I turned it on I'm seeing this sort of thing a lot on the web UI where it inserts a "..." button between entries and sometimes at the top of the column (I've even see TWO of these buttons appear both at the top of the mentions column only to quickly disappear).
I've also see a thin purple loading bar at the top of pages appearing and disappearing quite a lot, too. I don't know if related.

If you're on mastodon.social and use the web UI, I just realized you can enable grouped notifications in the settings now! Much nicer.@renchap this is going to be the default soon, right? (Or, I guess, I assume the switch will go away entirely and the old way will be replaced with this way - which I hope.)
