Forum performance -
Forum performanceExactly. I really like the idea, but php/.net is sufficient, fast, and CHEAP. When memory technology catches up (if ever), then I think reddis will become an option.
What you described with the endless stacking is the most recent article I read about someone who used reddis. They simply realized they were spending resources to make reddis work when they could spend much less using traditional technology for the same impact. They didn't abandon reddis, but they used it in a far limited and targeted capacity.

Forum performanceThanks. That verifies what I've been hearing about reddis. I don't think reddis is for me at this time. Memory technology has not progressed that far. I have thousands of concurrent connections, especially during peak periods (major links and when we send the email newsletter) and it would probably work if I had thousands of dollars per month to spend on it.

WYSIWYG editor?A paid WYSIWYG editor? What year is it?

Noticed this theme has multiple h1 tags on the same pageA couple of years ago, Google contacted me by phone (Google News) and instructed us that we should not have more than one H1 tag on the same page. H1 tags are clearly used by Google to discover the major headline of a page.
I'm not sure how useful this information is, but I noticed that every page has multiple H1 tags.

WYSIWYG editor?See my edit above... most forum software offer several options for editors but I would expect a real WYSIWYG editor for a next generation forum.
This is the number one request from my current forum members. Without a real WYSIWYG editor, I cannot use or recommend nodeBB.

WYSIWYG editor? So the answer is no. I find that typing in one side while viewing another side not to be very user-friendly and very clunky.

Nervous about reddis...Like most, I'm familiar with relational dbs so I am nervous about reddis. A while ago I read that if there's a memory problem, that tons of data would be lost. Is this true or is data stored in a file system of some sort?
Can you backup data that's stored in reddis?

WYSIWYG editor?I see the forum uses a markdown, which is really old-school. Does nodebb also provide the option of a WYSIWYG editor?

Forum performanceHow is the performance of the forum? Any recent benchmarks?
