We have had our nodebb forum up and running for over two years and I think we have over 400 members. I would love to create a report of how many people have joined our forum over the months. Is there a feature or plugin in nodebb to generate reports about users? If not, how would you recommend I go about doing this?

I think another way to do this would be to exclude a category from "recent topics". Is that currently possible?

I am thinking of creating a category in our forum to use for documenting all the tools we have. If we do that, there will be suddenly many posts in that category, and our users may be overwhelmed with the list of posts in daily digest. Is there any way to exclude any post that is made in a category from digest -- unless people explicitly subscribe to it?

It has been about a year since I develop a nodebb plugin. I would like to get into plugin development again to add a few features to my makerspace community forum. I know that plugin APIs must have changed a bit since then. Is the developer documentation the best place to start looking to get up to date information about the latest patterns and API's we can use? Are there any other resources I should look at that would help me get up to speed again?

Go to categories and open category settings. You should see a list like below:

In this case I am only allowing members of the certain group (Enigma) to see or post to that category, but you can see you have lots of option to control access to each category.

@baris ohhh I only deleted the main post. That was my problem, I should delete the whole topic when I see spam. right?

We have been having some sophisticated spam posting to our forum. I noticed a spam post and deleted it several hours before the digest was going to be sent out, but did not purge it. However the title of the spam post was still listed in the daily digest. Is there any way to make sure deleted posts do not end up in the email digest?

@baris is there any information available about what this feature actually is and how it will work? I am still wondering how it fits in with the admin controlled groups.

I just noticed there is a new section on this site called groups that can be accessed via menu bar by normal users. Are these independent of the groups created by admins behind the scene or are they essentially the same thing?

EDIT: sorry, false alarm. The email showed up 50 min late and the sent time was correct. So I guess the plugin worked, and there must have been some issue on the mail server side that delayed it.

Not sure if this is a known issue, but today for the first time the daily digest on our forum was not sent out. For the past few months it has been firing every day exactly at 2:00pm. I am using the Mandrill plugin.

I know that there is stuff to be sent out, since a few discussions were updated since yesterday at 2:00pm.

I am not sure how to debug this, and there does not seem to be any way to manually fire the daily digest. Is there anything I can do to figure out what the issue is?

Oh never mind, I see what you mean now. I have to first search for the user I want to be moderator.

I kept looking for a way to make a whole group moderator, but I guess that is not possible.

I'd like to assign a few members of my forum to a "moderator" group of some sort so that they can edit and delete all the posts on the forum. How can I do that without adding them to the system administrators group?
