@foone I have a VGA to HDMI Extron scaler.
I figured it out. My capture card doesn't support 800x600, only 1024x768. Once I swapped, the text is clear now.
My capture card doesn't have 800x600 support, only 1024x768 or 640x480.
Frustrating for sizing purposes (the text is smaller)...but at least the text looks more accurate, and I'm not seeing the flickering.
ODD is fine...it just can't read CD-Rs.
Can anyone tell me why this text issue is happening on my capture when it looks perfect on my display? I can't figure out why it looks so splotchy.

Edit: Nevermind. I figured it out.
I think the CD-ROM in my Packard Bell is toast.

Any suggestions on models I should hunt for/gravitate towards?
@riley I'm left handed, but I prefer using my mouse right handed.
Trackpads, I have to use left handed. I think it's because I'm "drawing" the cursor on the screen.
She uses her mouse left handed.
