Friendly reminder that the AllThingsTech.social Mastodon instance will be closing down permanently in just a few days.
If you are still a user on this instance you will need to migrate to a new instance ASAP! Once the instance shuts down, there won't be any way to move your account, get account backups or anything similar!

Thank you from both @cliffwade and @beardedtechguy to everyone who helped make AllThingsTech the best it could be over the past nearly 2 years that it's been around.

It is with a very heavy heart that @beardedtechguy and @cliffwade are having to make this announcement, however, it's something that needs to be done. Unfortunately we are going to need to shut down AllThingsTech.social, the Mastodon instance and the blog.
There are several reasons for this, but the biggest reason is the fact that we simply don't have the funds to continue paying the server fees associated with it any longer. (continued...)

Due to this, we realize users are going to need to find a new home on the Fediverse and we want to give you as much notice as possible. While it's not as long as we'd hope, the last day that the Mastodon instance will function is February 7th, 2025. With regards to the AllThingsTech Discord server, that will remain functional as we have a great little community there and we'd love to keep that as a place for all of us to keep in contact and continue having the great conversations that we have currently. We might restructure it a bit, but we'd love for all of you to remain a member of the Discord if you desire. (continued...)
