So, #Germany's biggest car maker, #Volkswagen is in crisis. This crisis is making them close 3 factories, and costing thousands of people their job. You might think that this crisis is caused by the diesel scandal that made their name a joke when people talked about testing, or about their resistance to EVs, or even just because of the general state of the economy right now.

And you're probably right, but the crisis turns out that they are making less profit. They are not actually losing money, not even close.

Thousands of people are losing their livelihoods because of this, because our current system can't allow a public company to just make a profit without growth.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like configuring services with environment variables?

Leaving the twitters/facebooks/instagrams of the world has been good for my mental health, and no matter how "not bad" bluesky is now, I trust its management as much as I can throw them, especially once they need to start making money with it.

@LeftistLawyer @MattMerk My theory is that it'll stay pretty consistent but not pick up much steam, until bluesky goes to shit (and considering its business model, you know it will) and then picks up steam again.

But outside that, I also think it depends on where you are, bluesky has always been more of an easy sell in the US for instance.

Focusing on "the immigration problem" will not stop people from voting extreme right, it only validates the narrative the extreme-right parties are pushing.

You don't oppose someone by agreeing with them.
