@Gargron Maybe you know that, and I honestly hope this brings better funding, which mastodon and the developers need and deserve, and not a big change in philosophy. But many people read angel investor and AI expert in the board, and might start preparing migrations or alternatives. Already the potential connection with threads feels totally unsafe for queer folks. This is not a good look from outside. Your inside knowledge might be different, and I really hope the best. But past experience hurt

The objective of the board might be different, the talks you have had and whatnot. But at first glance this is what people will see

Most would have no problem with you having a higher salary, specially given the state of the tech world. What raises an eyebrow is the venture capital and AI/Blockchain members of the board
