I just saw a video where a woman says “In times of uncertainty, I like to turn to scripture. Proverbs 26:11, in this case.”

I had to look it up. I won’t spoil it, but yup. That Bible sure is relevant to our times.

Journalists, bloggers, friends, I’m begging you: when talking about “a recent court filing,” please, *please* link to the actual filing! It’s easy, improves your credibility, and makes you more useful to your readers/viewers. It’s sort of the central power of the internet. Doing audio or video? Stick links in the description, comments, or notes. Talking about a “statement” or press release instead of a filing? Link to that!

RMS’s history of bad, gross behavior is making the rounds again, with a lot of apologists rehashing very tired arguments. Two points:

1) The bar for leadership in community organizations should be a hell of a lot higher than “probably not indictable“.

2) “Free speech” does not mean “speech free from consequences”. Yes, RMS is free to espouse his gross-ass positions… and everyone else is free to say “ew, gross, gtfo“.
