A) How do we ensure it runs-once-and-only-once (it's a process that takes several hours to complete)

Hey #Ruby folks, we are using #DelayedJob in a #Rails app; and the #Heroku Scheduler add-on for daily/hourly/etc. tasks.; but it doesn't support monthly tasks. We've considered:
1. Writing a Job that schedules it's next run, and then kicking off that Job manually (but that seems fraught)
2. Paying for a different add-on for scheduling tasks (but that gets away from "here are our recurring tasks, clearly defined in a file that gets checked-in and deployed with the application"
3. Looking for a "cron" gem (starting from https://www.ruby-toolbox.com/categories/scheduling) -

We have a task we want to run monthly; and we're curious about what boring-yet-railsy patterns folks have seen for navigating the unincluded-wrench of a 'relatively decent-cron, but-defined-in-code-base' for boring-rails apps.

But I gotta say, that's freakin' awesome!

So my personal Tailscale account can share resources to your personal Tailscale account ?

I'm re-reading #MurderBot, since I hadn't read #SystemCollapse yet; and I am now thinking about how to integrate SecUnit's "risk/threat assessment module" as a game mechanic.I'm re-reading #MurderBot, since I hadn't read #SystemCollapse yet; and I am now thinking about how to integrate SecUnit's "risk/threat assessment module" as a game mechanic.

Power-over dynamics are the foundation for our white supremacist hetero-patriarchy capitalist empire.
Power-with dynamics are how we plant, nurture, and steward multicultural and multi-ethnic institutions.
When we, as progressive laborers, develop "power with" relationships among ourselves and the communities we serve, we make progress towards a just future that eradicates the three evils of war, poverty, and racism.

I worked in the original "Learn coding in 9 weeks" program during it's 2nd year (#DevBootcamp); and in the whole industry, there is:
1. A lot of earnest people doing their best to support folks getting high-wage jobs.
2. A trend of papering over of negative outcomes for image reasons.
3. A significant focus on financial benefits to the owner/founders; at the expense of the teachers + students.
4. Some incredibly positive outcomes (mostly for those with existing privileges.) -
