@broadwaybabyto I went through somewhat of a similar experience. I had uterine fibroids which were very painful and caused a lot of bleeding. It got so bad that I could barely leave the house.
They wanted to try a procedure to remove them, instead of giving me a hysterectomy. It didn't work. I had been begging for a hysterectomy, but wasn't granted one until my late 30s, after many years of pain and pointless procedures. They kept wanting to look at them, so I went through many painful procedures just so they could verify that the fibroids were still there, and still the cause of my pain and bleeding.
I heard the same things as you. What if my future imaginary husband wanted kids. I heard this even though I was married at the time of my first procedure, and he had a vasectomy! Didn't that prove we - and he - didn't want kids? No, I was told that there could be a future imaginary husband that could want them! So they had this whole narrative of me getting divorced and finding someone else, to justify keeping my faulty uterus.
